Goa has been endowed with beauty from it's western coast to eastern hinterlands. It offers much more than scenic beaches to whoever visits. Before 400 years of Portuguese rule, Goa, as part of Karnataka's rulers (Kadamba, Shilaharas, Chalukyas etc.) and Maharashtra's Maratha empire, has lot of historical monuments to offer our sights. During Ashokan era, Buddhism was surging. At that time, Buddhist monks traveled and built caves on their way - to meditate, live and rest on their way. Such 40+ caves are scattered across Goa, from it's capital city Panjim, to foothills of Sahyadri in Valpoi.
In our attempt to cover maximum heritage of Goa, we take you from these 2nd century iconic caves to 16th century churches influenced by Portuguese. We cover forts, temples, caves, churches and a few houses which develop a timeline of Goa's history in 3 days.
