Agassaim is not a typical beach but a mudflat formed in the bay of Zuari river. The mudflats serve as valuable feeding grounds for a number of migratory birds which winter in Goa. 

Key Species: Tibetan sand plover, kentish plover, greater sand plover, ruddy turnstone, terek sandpiper, dunlin, great know, curlew sandpiper, Lesser Crested tern, Great crested tern, caspian tern, gull-billed tern, osprey, white-bellied sea eagle.
